Fun Monday #21 - My blogging spaces ...

Make Time for Small Reflections
Gattina of Writer Cramps
is hosting
Fun Monday this week and writes:
"As I am a very curious person, I just want you to show us a picture of your blogging place ... your room or bed or whatever space(s) or places(s) you have to write your posts."
My favorite 'blogging space' is outside on my patio ... in the company of Ms. Kitty OR Molly (if you look closely at the large photo you'll see her head next to the chair closest to the open door), but never both since they don't really enjoy the company of one another. I blog here in the early morning (before the sun overtakes the patio and creates too much glare to read the screen) ... and in the late afternoon/early evening when shade returns. Notice my lime tree providing the shade has tons of ripened fruit. Fortunately there's an electrical outlet just behind the blue chairs for when I need a 'charge' ...
My 'inside space' looks much like this (though a bit more cluttered at the moment) ... with two major changes ... my new (more comfortable) black office chair (shown lower right) ... and my Dell Inspiron 1720 (running Vista) that now sits to the right of the older Dell Inspiron 9100 (running XP) because I use both currently.
Once I 'declutter & simplify' my workspace, I plan to replace the three folding tables with 'real' office furniture with storage space. Until then, the plastic and cardboard file containers will have to suffice. Of course, a pillow for Molly at my feet will remain (see top left photo of lower collage ... it's almost the same color as the floor, but it's there).

Next week's host is Woodlandmama.

Wow, that's lovely! Blogging in the open air. I could do that! What a great idea you gave me. :)

Wow ! I am jalous that you have such a nice place in your garden !! with all this rain falling on my head here it is not possible or only once in a blue moon ! and your inside space is very practical ! Isn't it interesting to see all our "Blogspots" ?

I love the look of your outside blogging space and that's just the reason I want a laptop!

Your outside blogging space looks so peaceful. I love blogging outside in my garden but alas we have only had about 4 days of decent weather all told this summer. Ha did I summer?

I love your patio. The furniture is so bright and cheerful, and your inside space looks very organized and practical. Fab.

A lovely shady area, Storyteller! It's much too hot here for me to even consider blogging outside. Beside, I use a PC. I have a laptop, but I only use it when I travel or if my PC's in for repairs.

So which do you prefer? XP or Vista? My new computer has Vista on it and while we've come to a grudging truce, I would love to have my XP back!!!!

I think the out door space is the preffered at lest by me. Fresh Limeaid Yum Thanks for sharing.

Wow! What a beautiful place you have! One of these days I'm gonna get me a lap top for I wont be stuck in this one spot. I like to move. LOL! And I love out doors!

I need a lap top so I can use my computer by the pond. Faces east -- so the morning sun
I like to sit out there with coffee before I go to work.

Love your outdoor space. Very nice. I'd love to be able to blog outdoors, but alas, I have no laptop...I am in envy of your nice office chair!

I love your outside space, I think I would blog all day in that space...just gorgeous!!

First, agree with you that no blogspot--inside or out--would be complete without the companionship of our four-legged friends. Your outside furniture reminded me of the colors I'm seeing on The Impressionists--have you seen this series? Inside you will have quite a command center when all is finished. Suspect I could learn a lot about technology from you.

I love both spots and your new chair looks totally comfy! So sweet you include a pillow for Molly. :)

To all – I enjoyed seeing everyone’s ‘blogging spaces’ and sharing my own. I also had fun adding the Fun Monday title to a ‘cartoon’ I found a while back at Chuck’s (aka Rhonda) with a ‘computer workspace supported by and washer and dryer’ ... and am just a little surprised no one seemed to notice it because I thought it a PERFECT beginning to my post. That said … I’ve created a Fun Monday Logo of my very own to use in future Monday posts … just because I admire the ‘creativity’ of others who have done this already.

EastCoastLife – I’m delighted to have given you the idea to blog outside … and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Gattina – We are blessed with wonderful weather in Southern California for the most part … and the growing season here is long indeed. I compliment you once again on an ‘excellent’ topic, for it was great fun to see what everyone shared this week.

ChrisB – Yup … laptops are the best! I’m sure you’ll enjoy having one.

Akelamalu – Some years are better than others for ‘summer’ … and this year’s been an ‘odd’ one all over the world. I hope you have some lovely weather to blog outside before Winter sets in.

Jo Beaufoix – When I bought those blue chairs a few years back, I assumed they’d fade in the sun … but they’ve held the color amazingly well. My indoor space IS practical … if a bit unorthodox. Bless you for saying it looks ‘organized’ ;--)

WillThink4Wine – I’m sorry it’s too hot for you to blog outdoors because it IS nice to be in the fresh air. Once upon a time I had a desktop PC but I do love the convenience of a laptop. My latest one has a 17’ screen so it’s much like a desktop in that regard.

Sayre – Making the initial adjustment was challenging, but I’m getting accustomed to Vista gradually. There are a few things I really like about Vista … so I’m assuming that this transition will be no different than switching from the previous operating system to XP was way back when. Of course, I still HAVE my XP and use it for things other than blogging.

IamwhoIam – I have fresh limeaid AND lemonade almost all year round. Right now my lemon tree has a new crop ripening so it looks like a 2nd lime tree currently … but soon I’ll have tons of lemons again too.

Kitten – Thanks! I do feel fortunate to have these options … and being able to blog OUTSIDE is a true blessing.

Judy’s Teapot – I hope you’ll be able to do that some time soon. I enjoyed seeing YOUR blogging area too.

Pamela – My house faces east too … with morning sun. I love watching the sun rise as I sip my morning coffee … create my posts … and check email.

Grace – Yup … that outside electrical outlet is in the PERFECT spot! A fortunate coincidence for sure ;--)

SwampAngel65 – I’m thrilled with my new office chair … and don’t know why I didn’t ‘invest’ earlier. I guess it just never occurred to me to buy a new one because there was nothing WRONG with the old one. Of course, I spent so much more time at the computer now that I blog … that the new chair makes it all so much more comfortable.

Alison – I’ve been tempted … and have even tried, but once the sun rises it’s just too HOT and there’s too much GLARE out front to see the screen. I suppose I could get myself an ‘umbrella’ … but if I make it too comfortable, I’d get nothing done. LOL

Faye – I’m with you on having the company of ‘fur-friends’ as I do most anything around home. I’ve not seen ‘The Impressionists’ but perhaps will check it out as time permits. I have turned what once was my ‘family room’ into an ‘office’ … something I wouldn’t have been able to do when I shared my living space with other ‘two-legged’ folks. I do try to keep ‘current’ with new technologies … but my televisions are more than 20 years old … and don’t get much use unless there’s a major TENNIS tournament on.

Lisa’s Chaos – Before I had multiple pillows for Molly … strategically placed throughout the house … she used to drag her bed with her wherever she wanted to be. It was pretty funny actually … but I figured it was a small thing to purchase different beds for different locations throughout the house so she can be close w/o shedding all over the ‘people’ furniture.

To all – Thanks to everyone for visiting and sharing your thoughts. I hope you're all having a wonderful week.
Hugs and blessings,

Thanks for sharing your spaces! I like to blog outside too sometimes. I just love my laptop and wireless internet because the world is my office! :)

MPJ – Like you, I value my privacy and prefer to be ‘a nonny mouse’ … but sharing my blogging spaces in this limited way seemed harmless enough and it was fun to see where others blog too. I’m with you about wireless laptops for the same reasons. Thanks for dropping by.
