Thursday's Thoughts, a Thank You, and more ...

Make Time for Small Reflections
NaBloPoMo-Day27
Hooray ... my comment visibility problem at WordPress is resolved!!! I appreciate those of you who responded to my pleas for assistance. Your suggestions made a huge difference. I'm also grateful to friends who have checked out my new Happily Retired Storyteller blog, leaving me words of supportive encouragement there. I've left a 'thank you' there for each of you ;--)

I know it's cRaZy for me to be starting yet another blog, but I'm fascinated with the possibilities and love the challenge of learning new things ... so for the moment, my compulsions have kicked in making me even farther behind on everything else. Such is the story of my life it seems.

Yesterday I was away from home from about 10am until almost 5pm ... running errands ... picking Satsuma tangerines from my sister's backyard tree & delivering 'gifts' to friends ... getting my hair cut & styled ... visiting the dentist to get my permanent crown & final old filling replaced. I did manage to visit a few blogs and keep up with NaBloPoMo here & at Sacred Ruminations with Wellness Wednesday in addition to sharing some advice about How to Remain Young at WordPress.

Sandee at Comedy Plus shared all these lovely awards (some of which I've shared already) yesterday ...
and I want to pass these awards on to all my regulars too!

Here's wishing everyone who's celebrating, the Happiest of Thanksgiving Days ... and to those who aren't, I hope you have a delightful day doing whatever you choose.

In addition to my gratitude list in the sidebar here,
I'll be creating & publishing another at Sacred Ruminations soon.

WhimsicalWednesday - Requesting help with WordPress and a sharing a bit of fun ...

NaBloPoMo-Day26
Make Time for Small Reflections
I appreciate those of you who have checked out my new Happily Retired Storyteller blog at WordPress & left me comments. I apologize that they're not visible for all to see, and I'm doing what I can to figure out what the problem is. They show up in my dashboard and I've 'approved' them (though I've figured out how to remove the 'approval' function altogether) ... they're 'counted' but all that appears in the sidebar is your 'identity' ... so if anyone who uses WordPress knows what's going on, I'd appreciate some help with this situation.

I've spent considerable time searching the 'Forums' for help (to no avail on this issue) but I've learned there are significant differences in 'available features' on the WordPress platform depending on whether you're using 'blogname.WordPress.com' and simply 'blogname.com' ... so there's more complexity that I realized initially.

I did publish there this morning ... How to Stay Young, A Thank You, and a Plea for Help ... so feel free to drop by when time permits.

Michelle at My Crazy Life With a Toddler shared this recently. I know I've done the quiz previously and gotten different results, but these are the results yielded this time around, and they seem 'right on' to me somehow.
Your Personality Profile
You are dignified, spiritual, and wise. Always unsatisfied, you constantly try to better yourself. You are also a seeker of knowledge and often buried in books. You tend to be philosophical, looking for the big picture in life. You dream of inner peace for yourself, your friends, and the world. A good friend, you always give of yourself first.
If you decide to take this quiz
please leave your results in comments
or a link to where I can find them on your blog.

NaBloPoMo - Day 25
After a few bloggy friends experienced 'unforseen disasters' on their Blogger-based sites, I decided to take Melissa's advice and be proactive about creating 'back-ups of my three blogs just in case. It's taken more time than expected and piqued my curiosity about how things work. As a result, I'm farther behind than ever ... but hoping (as ever) to catch up eventually.

In addition to backing them up, I created 'duplicate sites' on Blogger and am in the process of creating duplicates at WordPress too ... just because. Although it may be silly of me to do so, I've created a totally new site there called Happily Retired Storyteller to 'explore WordPress as a platform with links to my original 'Blogger-based' sites here. I have not clear focus for that new site other than to learn how things work ... but I'll keep you informed of my progress, and should you find time I hope you'll drop by to say 'hello' ... just because.

This is my 12th Ruby Tuesday
Cranberries ... YUM!

With gratitude to whoever created this image, I'm using her
to represents me ... participating in the November 2008 Giving Thanks Challenge (hosted by South Breeze Farm) by adding something for which I'm thankful each day. I intend to continue this practice during the month of December and perhaps beyond because celebrating 'what is' with a joyful spirit helps me keep perspective when things don't always turn out the way I'd like. Everyone is invited to join me in this practice on your own blogs if you choose. If you let me know in comments, I'll do my best to visit.

I shared some Thanksgiving things for your viewing pleasure in yesterday's post, and I'm resisting the temptation to decorate for the Christmas season (here & in my home) until Friday because that's long been a tradition in my family.

Once I've published this I plan to create my Simply Kind Tuesdays post at Sacred Ruminations. It should be there shortly and I hope you'll drop by & perhaps participate too as time permits.
Happy Thanksgiving to All!

You Are Thanksgiving
You are a bit of a homebody who enjoys being in the company of people you love.

It doesn't take a lot to make you happy. You're enjoying life as it is. You have many blessings in your life, and you are grateful for each one.

You believe that life is about what you *do* have. You feel like you have enough of the good stuff.

What makes you celebrate: Family, friends, and the changing of the seasons. At holiday get togethers, you do best as: The host of the party on a holiday, you're the one most likely to: Spend so much energy preparing that it's a full time job.
