of Performances by Straight No Chaser
(and a few more for good measure)
For slow or choppy online videos,
try the following tips from Melissa:
- Click the "play" button.
- Once the video starts to load, click the "pause" button and let the rest of the video load.
- If you watch the status bar at the bottom of the video, (the bar with the pointer that tells you how far into the video you are) you can see the bar filling up.
- Once the status bar is full and the video is loaded, click "play" again and the video will usually play through much better.
This will work for most online videos regardless of how old or slow a computer is. The key is to wait until the video has fully loaded before attempting to view it. Try it!

Facts about Straight No Chaser from their My Space Blog:
"In October 1996, SNC began by performing at charity events and sorority functions on the Indiana University campus. In less than two years, they were touring nationally, opening for acts like Lou Rawls and Aretha Franklin, performing at Chicago Cubs and Sox games, the Brickyard 500, and even New York's Carnegie Hall. They have released seven CDs in their ten years together, and have sold over 40,000 albums. You can read more about them at their website."

WOW! They are really good. Thanks for sharing.

I liked their version of Allentown. This was fun. Thanks! I also have a musician link on my TT that I just found and love.
I have never heard of them prior to this. They are great

I had never heard of them either. And thanks for passing along the video tips too!
What a fun list! Thanks for sharing. I get so sick of the same old same old - very cool!
Happy TT!
Very good TT! Up my ally.
Cool TT!
Thank you for visiting mine and for the advice too! I was a teacher before my son was born seven years ago, so I still have "it" in me at times too! :)
They are Ah-mazing! I saw one of their songs a while back, but this is a greater selection :) I do believe the first is my all time favorite. I would love to see them perform live!
Happy TT. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi and thanks to everyone for visiting my T-13 today and leaving your comments. I just learned about this entertaining group yesterday, but loved watching and listening to their videos. As I was book-marking the links, it occurred to me that there might be others like me who didn’t know they were out there – hence the decision to make them my topic today and share with whoever happened by.
Moondancer – I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. I found your T-13 “book quotes” interesting, but couldn’t leave a comment with my name … so I figured I’d leave it here instead. I’m not familiar with that book or author, but enjoyed the detailed introduction to the characters you provided.
Kat – I wish you luck on your T-13 “resolutions” and look forward to a progress report this time NEXT year. I’ glad you enjoyed these links.
Colleen – Thanks for letting me know. I’ll come check your musical link when I finish commenting here. I’m not sure I could pick a favorite, but that was one I of the best, after the 12 Days of Christmas that I discovered 1st.
Maribeth – I’m sorry you couldn’t leave a link and hope you clicked the box to get email follow-up comments. I’m happy you found them enjoyable.
Kara – I'm relieved because I was thinking I’d been living in a cave or with my head in the sand to have missed them. It's most reassuring to know I had company in my lack of information about this group and I’m happy I decided to share today. Actually, Melissa gave me those video tips when I complained about my computer being too slow to watch videos at her blog. They work really well for me, and hope they do for you too.
Claudia – I love the way information gets shared here in this “virtual world” with links. It’s all very new and “very cool” to me as well. Your list of people who inspired you in 2007 was wonderful – informative, insightful, and thought-provoking. Thanks for sharing. I also loved the lotus Thursday Thirteen logo and would love to “borrow” it for future use if you wouldn’t mind sharing.
Tim – Thanks for the compliment. As I wrote on your blog, Harry Connick Jr. is a favorite of mine also. I appreciate your visit today.
Chelle – Methinks once a teacher … always a teacher. If memory serves, you play and teach piano. I could use a refresher course because I’ve not played in while, but I do love to entertain myself with music at the piano and on the guitar.
Sandy – I agree! The “12 Days of Christmas” was my introduction to this group. I watched it several times (laughing often throughout) before realizing they had other videos available. It took me a while to track all these down and I wasn’t sure I’d find 13. Who knew I’d end up with more than 20!
Pussreboots – You’re welcome and DITTO. I enjoyed the photos of your Christmas celebration and the “year in review” meme.
I hope the spirit of the Christmas season follows you and yours into 2008 bringing peace, joy, and wonder throughout the year.
Hugs and blessings,
Great list...thanks so much for sharing it with us:) Happy TT and thanks for stopping by:)
Interesting stuff! I still like loud guitars, even though there's much to be said for the human voice as an instrument.
Happy TT!
great TT!!! :-)
Impressive. Most impressive. *grin*
I love a cappella groups and this is a great find. I deeply appreciate it!

Interesting! I'd never heard about them before. They're very good! Hope you've had a wonderful Christmas!
Thanks to all of you for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed my T-13 with Straight No Chaser links.
Lori – I’m happy you had such a good Christmas. It was a pleasure to meet you on this round of TTs.
Susan – Loud guitars, eh? At my advanced age, I finally understand the things my mom and dad said as we played OUR “unfamiliar” music when we were adolescents and young adults. In fact, they were pretty accepting at the time and (in retrospect) I hope we expressed our appreciation adequately.
Girl – Thanks and happy TT back-acha :)
Xakara – I’ve always enjoyed a’capella groups ... in fact, I used to sing in one years ago myself. I tried clicking on your link to visit your site, but it seems I need an "account" to do so. Since I'm busy enough "as is" ... I'm hoping you clicked the box for follow up here, will see this response and know I tried.
Smiler – I’m happy to report that Christmas was unexpectedly pleasant, and I hope yours was wonderful as well. I’m glad to pass along information you found new and interesting, especially since I’ve learned so much already from your Blogging 101 course.
I wish you all a 2008 filled with peace, wonder, and joy!
Hugs and blessings,
I am not video-enabled here which is too bad as I like acapella. Maybe I'll keep a link handy for the future.
Since you shared your favorite ban, I'll share one of mine: "The Divine Comedy". They have some clips at YouTube also. :)
Thanks for making it easier to link to your blog--I appreciate it!
Linda

Thank you for introducing me to this group! I love a capella, but didn't know them.
Thanks for visiting my resolutions TT!
Linda - I hope you'll find an opportunity to see and hear them because they're a real treat ... very unique and entertaining! I checked out the first of the three and will get to the others as time permits. I hope 2008 is better for you than 2007 was.
Tink - I'm glad to share. I'd never heard of them before I saw a link at Eve's that Zazzy (I think) had left for her. After watching 12 Days I was hooked and went searching for more, then figured I'd share with others.
Thanks to both of you for visiting and Happy New Year's Eve to you and yours.
Hugs and blessings,
hi!!!! Just thought I'd let you know that I'd visited your blog.
Barb!!!
Not only am I happy, I'm PROUD of you for leaving a comment, even though I realize it was Rich who listened to Straight No Chaser and prompted you to do so. THANK YOU RICH! Get her to visit again! Now I realize why we weren't looking at the same thing last night. I was looking at my most recent T-13 and you were looking at this one. I'll have to remember to tell you there's another with different links to enjoy when next we chat on the phone.
Hugs and blessings,
