Love this. Great job on this weeks heads or tails.

Okay I recognize Mash and the two different (I guess done as "now" and "then") versions of ER.

I'm clueless on the rest! lol

Molly said...

I recognize Ben Casey, Dr. Zorba, Dr. Gillespe, Dr, Kildare, M.A.S.H.,Chicago Hope, ER, and Grey's Anatomy. Missing are Marcus Welby M.D., St. Elsewhere, and a few others.

Grey's Anatomy, I cannot wait for next season! <3 and ER... I'm so sad that this is going to be ER's last season. Thanks for sharing this Tuesday!

Oh my. I recognize the E.R. series staff. That was about the time I was in nursing school. After working as a nurse for a year, watching medical drama felt like I was back at work, so I cut them out :)

Mike – Ohmygosh … methinks you might know too much about medical TV shows! LOL

OnAngelWings – Thanks … I enjoyed the trip down memory lane myself. There were lots more ‘doctors’ on television, but these are the only shows I ever watched.

Irish Coffeehouse – Mash is my favorite of all of these medical shows but once it went off the air, I never watched it again even though I know it’s still airing reruns.

Molly – Like Mike, you may know a little too much about these shows. I thought about including Marcus Welby and St. Elsewhere because my sister enjoyed those two, but I never watched either unless I was with her … so I omitted them.

Kim – I’m looking forward to House, Grey’s Anatomy, and ER … though ER hasn’t been the same since Noah Wylie and the fellow who played Mark Green (whose name escapes me at the moment) left the show.

Sandy – I can imagine watching medical shows didn’t seem like ‘entertainment’ while you worked as a nurse.

To all – Thanks for dropping by my Tuesday post on Monday evening. I’ve gotten in the habit of posting it early in anticipation to rushing off to my PSE6 class on Tuesday morning. Next week I’ll probably wait until Tuesday morning to publish. Hope you’re all having an enjoyable evening. I appreciate you spending some of it here. I've about run out of energy and am about to turn off my computer, so I'll be visiting HoTs posts (and others) tomorrow.

I knew some of the faces but the names escaped me beside, Dr Kildare, the ER people, Chicago Hope people, Greys Anatomy people, MASH people and of course House and Hugh Laurie. Great post this week and a walk down memory lane. My HoT is actually two posts... Dr Hackenbush and My Favourite Doctor

Happy HoT day!

I don't watch much TV - I only recognize M*A*S*H. I LOVE that show!!! ;-)

Jo, a retired teacher said...

I recognized all the shows, but I would have missed the names of some of the doctors. For some reason I didn't watch Chicago Hope much and I have not gotten caught up in Grey's Anatomy. I do enjoy House, E.R., and I loved M*A*S*H. I watched Drs. Casey and Kildare when I was a youngster, and where is Dr. Welby?

Thanks for the stroll down the medical memory lane.

NicciN said...

Oh, I love House. Thanks for reminding me that I meant to rent the DVDs of the next season.

Forgetfulone said...

Chicago Hope and ER used to be my favorites. Then, just ER after CH was cancelled. For a long time I didn't watch TV, but I discovered Grey's Anatomy on DVD last year, and I love it.

smarmoofus said...

hah! Another House fan... you showed him separately from his castmates. *giggles*

I identified everything from M*A*S*H forward. The older stuff was before my time, I guess.

What a fun game! Happy HoT!

I love Dr. House. I try to not miss it. Tho, this last season with all the changes in staff was a bit 'silly' ---too silly even for House. LOL [hope this new season is better]

I remember my mom's heart throb was Ben Casey. And me and Richard Chamberlain...wowzers!!!

Great HoT this week Storyteller.

These are great!! I loved the MASH pic :) Brings back good memories!

Bev – Some of the names escaped me too. It surprised me to discover how many MORE doctor shows there have been over the years on television … most of which I didn’t watch. This post would have been at least three times as long if I'd included the rest.

Erica – Like you, I don’t watch much TV either … but I was a faithful MASH viewer … enjoyed Ben Casey with the family, had a crush Dr. Kildare when I was younger … and am ‘hooked on House and Grey’s Anatomy’ these days. As for the others … I watched when convenient … just enough to recognize the players, but wasn’t an ‘avid’ fan.

Jo – You’re quite welcome. Although aware of Dr. Welby, I never watched the show, so I opted to omit him. I discovered Chicago Hope in reruns, long after it had been cancelled, started watching ER in season 3 or 4, but I’ve watched Grey’s Anatomy and House from the beginning.

Yertle – I’m delighted to be of service ;--)

Forgetfulone – I’m a rather minimalist when it comes to television, but do set the DVR to capture the shows I enjoy … and sometimes I even watch them before they disappear when I’m caught up in TENNIS matches! LOL

Smarmoofus – Yup … I confess to being a fan of Hugh Laurie. Whenever I see him interviewed I marvel at his British accent because he seems like such a natural ‘American’ curmudgeon in the show.

Hootin’ Anni – Thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I agree that the first season of House was better than the last one and (like you) I’m hoping for better in the next season.

To all – What a pleasant beginning to my day … finding and responding to your comments here. Maybe I’ll continue to post HoTs early after all. As soon as I eat some breakfast I’ll be visiting to see what others have done with this week’s prompt. Hope you all have a lovely day.

There really are a lot of people who play doctors on TV!

I recognized the doctors from M*A*S*H* (loved that show) and ER. I sort of recognized some other ones, but never watched their shows.

M*A*S*H will forever be my fav doctor's show, good take on the theme. final season for ER this year, so a must see.

Storyteller,

What fun! The photos of Dr. Casey and Dr. Kildare sure bring back memories. I was about 12 years old when these programs were on TV. My friends and I were divided into 2 camps - those who were in love with Dr. C and those who were in love with Dr. K. I fell into the latter camp. LOL

Hugs,
Tina

I couldn't get the first one (for once I am too young???ha ha)and the second one I could not for the life of me remember the names (too old now, ha ha). But I recognized the rest!

Have a great day.

Boy, did this ever take me to memory lane, although I didn't recognize all of them.

Grays Anatomy is one of my favorite TV shows.

Good choice for today's HoT.

I don't watch enough TV. I definitely know the ER docs (both sets - show has been on way too long, but still I watch), but I only know the names of House and Grey's Anatomy but no names, amazingly enough. Fun take on the theme!

Anonymous said...

Great list. I had forgotten most of them.

Anonymous said...

I recognize Grey's Anatomy, but the rest, I don't have a clue. You must have spent time digging for those black and white pics. :-)

I absolutely adore House! I stumbled on the show while I was going through chemo and I wished he was my doc!

Where's Marcus Welby? yeah, I'm old. :)

Rambler – Ben Casey & Dr. Kildare aired from 1961-1966 … well before M*A*S*H (that aired from 1972 to 1983), so perhaps they were ahead of your time?

Ann – Actually there were many more than I shared in this HoTs post … but these were the ones I either watched occasionally or was ‘hooked’ on ;--)

Sassy Mama Bear – M*A*S*H was MY favorite too, though I did really enjoy the first season of House and Grey’s Anatomy. I kind of stopped watching ER after Noah Wylie left, but maybe I’ll catch part of this final season.

Tina – Hmmm … guess I’m older than you because I was 15 or 16 when I started watching Ben Casey and Dr. Kildare ;--)

Vixen – The first two photos are of the two starring doctors of Ben Casey. The second is Sam Jaffe who played Casey’s mentor, Dr. Zorba

Betty – Tripping down memory lane can be phun ya know ;--)

Maggie – Interestingly I can name the characters in most of these newer shows, but not the actors who PLAY the characters … though I knew the names of the actors who played in the earlier shows.

Karen (at My Opinion Counts) – I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Marlene (at Potpourri) – Actually it didn’t take long at all. The photos came right up when I typed the names of the shows and/or characters into Google. I guess some info remains readily accessible.

Lisa – I’m not sure I’d want House for my doctor, but I do enjoy the curmudgeon-type character Hugh Laurie plays on the show. I’m old too (I suspect considerably older than you actually), but for some reason I never watched Marcus Welby … and that’s why I didn’t include him. You’re not the only one who asked about this omission ;--)

To all – I appreciate you visiting and commenting today and am glad you enjoyed my photo post whether you remembered the names of the DOCTORS or not. Methinks Mike listed them all in the first comment (though he reversed Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey and left out Dr. Zorba ... but Molly got those 3 right) so if you read through the comments, you got feedback quickly. I visited most of the folks in the Mr. Linky this morning before the 5.4 EARTHQUAKE that occurred around 11:42am today, but I turned off the computer shortly after and was gone all afternoon. If I didn’t visit you, I’ll try to drop by tomorrow … but methinks I’m too tired to do much of anything this evening. Hope you all had a pleasant day.

Oh, I remember every one of them...and still watch several of them now....ER, House, Grey's Anatomy. I watched all of them at one time. MASH was a huge favorite, as was Ben Casey and Dr, Kildare, Chicago Hope. Only other ones I watched that aren't here are Marcus Welby M.D. and St. Elsewhere. Thanks Virginia...

Annabel said...

ohh, good idea for a post :) i recognised M*A*S*H, the ER cast (ohh, how i love Noah Wyle), All Saints, Grey's Anatomy and House... not bad!

Le Butterfly said...

hehehehe good one! I was just laughing because I was just thinking about how many movies contain the word doctor and now you have taken one step further with series.

I have really enjoyed the last one

Karen said...

Oooo...you ended with my favorite! I've loved Hugh Laurie since the eighties! (Have you seen his Bertie Wooster?)

Tina said...

wow some of those bought back some memories!

i love House though, thats still an ongoing classic

Anonymous said...

I recognize Richard Chamberlin, MASH, and House. I don't watch medical shows though.

storyteller said...

Joy – I watch House and Grey’s Anatomy and maybe I’ll watch ER since it’s the last season, but it’s just not the same without the Mark Green and Dr. Carter characters. I never watched St. Elsewhere or Marcus Welby and that’s why I didn’t include them.

Annie (My Life in the Hovel)
I’ve done many almost wordless posts during the past 10 weeks while I was busy with my PSE6 classes, but hopefully I’ll get back to ‘wordier’ ones now that I have more time to create them. I’m glad you enjoyed my ‘doctors’ HoTs.

Simone – I’m always amazed at the variety of the responses to each week’s prompt or theme.

Karen – You and me both … Hugh Laurie is my fav, but I’ve not seen his Bertie Wooster so will need to check that out sometime soon (before I forget). Thanks for the tip.

Tina – I’m glad. I enjoy House too ;--)

Randall – Hmm … you must be a ‘contemporary’ if you remember Richard Chamberland. LOL You might enjoy House because it’s less of a medical show than a ‘medical mystery’ with considerable humor.

To all – I appreciate your visit & comments and am glad you enjoyed my ‘take’ on this week’s prompt.
