Camera Critters #2 - Unconscious Mutterings #3

Misty Dawn started the meme and explains the rules here:

Meet Ms. Kitty
(a 'feral cat' who adopted me
about a decade or so ago)
She's claimed the 'high ground'
outside my kitchen window ... looking in
and watches Molly from 'above' ;--)

Molly after being groomed ... sports a 'bandana' briefly
.. until she rips it off and chews it to shreds!
* * * * * * * * * * * * *

I'm playing for the 3rd time today.
How about you?

What comes to YOUR mind?
If you'd like to play here, copy and paste the clues in comments along with your responses ... or post on your blog and let me know so I can visit ;--)

Here are MY responses:

I say ... and you think ... ?

  1. Thug :: Threatening or aggressive 'ruffian' or thief
  2. Slurp :: Soup
  3. Alley :: Access to my garage
  4. Sweater vest :: Old fashioned
  5. Targeted :: Thoughts (as in 'focused' on a single topic)
  6. Snazzy :: Dresser (as in 'cool' or 'sharp' or 'stylish)
  7. Oy! :: Vey
  8. Jury duty :: Been there, done that ... multiple times.
  9. Low fat :: Milk ... (not as 'tasty' but a healthier alternative)
  10. Responsibility :: Respect for self and others ... personal character

I say ... and you think ... ?

  1. Thug ::
  2. Slurp ::
  3. Alley ::
  4. Sweater vest ::
  5. Targeted ::
  6. Snazzy ::
  7. Oy! ::
  8. Jury duty ::
  9. Low fat ::
  10. Responsibility ::

I like the picture of your Miss Kitty. Some of the best cats I've had just moved in. Molly looks so sweet! I used to have a black lab named Molly. A sweet name for sweet girls!

Great associations, storyteller. I thought this weeks list was a little odd - but, as always you do an amazing job!

I also said soup for slurp :)

They are both beautiful! My Maggie is a chewer like your Molly - I think it's a puppy-thing hehe

I like your thought for the day :)

I had to go back to my blog and count my Mutterings. As far as I can tell, by counting the category tags, I've completed 238 Mutterings. I found 2 which were unpublished for some strange reason lol. My first one was on May 20, 2003. They've been a Sunday morning ritual for 5 years now!

I've only been called for jury duty once and I was dismissed.

Thanks for visiting today!

Cute pictures! Love your pets! By the way, I've tagged you for a meme, come on by to see what it is! Thanks!

Yes, I think a vest is old fashioned too.

You can find my mutterings ::here::

Have a great week!

Gunner wears his for about 5 minutes before he rips it off and chews it up too! They're both adorable.

Sharon – She’s my 1st cat ever because I’m ‘allergic’ to the fur … but we’ve forged a familiar relationship and I’d miss her if she stopped coming around. When I named Molly, I’d never heard of a dog with that name … but now I’ve learned it’s quite popular & common ;--)

Hootin’ Annie – Thanks for your visit and lovely wish. It’s actually VERY sunny today at the beach with temperatures in the high 80s … most unusual for this time of year … but gorgeous all the same!

Claudia – I appreciate your visit and positive feedback. I visited your mutterings earlier, but I don’t recall what we might have had in common (or not) at the moment.

Shannon – Thanks on behalf of each of them! They’re each delightful by themselves … but haven’t become ‘friends’ in the way I hoped they might ;--)

Misty Dawn – Perhaps … but Molly’s already 3 years old! Of course, I’ve learned that ‘labs’ have the longest puppyhood of all the breeds. Little did I know when I fell in love with her.

Rose – Thanks so much. I left a response on your blog about how to find links to the two ‘messages’ I’ve already sent into this virtual ocean. They’re in the About Me section of my sidebar.

Laane – After reading some other ‘mutterings’ today, I guess ‘sweater vests’ are back in vogue these days. Who knew? I loved the folks who responded ‘Mr. Rogers’ … how perfect was that?

Tamy – I’ve just accepted the fact she’s not going to be a ‘bandana’ dog … even though we live at the beach. She looks pretty with her royal purple collar … even though it’s considerably more faded than her matching leash ;--)

I’m delighted each of you decided to visit and share your thoughts. I hope you’re all having a delightful day!
Hugs and blessings,

Does Ms. Kitty let you come near her, or is she still quite shy?

The meme looks like fun. I'll probably play, but my answers will be much like yours, I think. :)

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Ms Kitty's a beauty. I miss my 2 black cats although I love my 2 calico cats I have now.
Something special about black though! Great shot!

Hello again!, I followed the link to the poem and liked it! And it had a happy ending, I'm always a sucker for a happy ending.

Thanks for letting me know about the word verification. I had turned it off on my main blog and thought that did it for all of them. I've turned it off on Mostly Rusty now as well. Blogger is out of control with the words. Yuck! Hope they fix it soon.

Joyce – Ms. Kitty’s not shy around ME … but she’s still skittish around others and has lots of hiding places. I’ll look forward to your Unconscious Mutterings if you decide to play. Apparently you can post all week long like we can for One Single Impression. I was tagged by Peajay for another meme and it’ll be up with my 4th Fun Monday post.

Mother of Invention – Thanks … she seems ‘small’ to me until I visit my friend Carol’s house and see Annie, her cat, who looks like a miniature version of Ms. Kitty. The only time I worry about her is in October around Halloween, but fortunate she ‘hides’ out quite successfully.

Sharon – Thanks for the ‘return visit’ … and I'm glad you enjoyed my two-part Beagle Haiku story. I turned off word verification about a month into my blogging experience and haven’t had much trouble with ‘spammers’ … just periodically a lengthy ‘anonymous rant’ shows up and I delete them. After I left the comment for you I noticed a few more blogs with almost indecipherable word verification codes that took me 3 to 4 tries before getting them ‘right’ so I could leave a comment. I hope you don’t end up with problems.

Thanks for visiting this afternoon/evening. I’m about ready to turn off my computer for the night. Hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend.
Hugs and blessings,

Lilli and Nevada – I think they’re both special too ;--)

Dianne – It’s likely the only way I’d ever HAVE a cat in my life. LOL

Karen – How cool! You decided to ‘mutter’ and shared your responses HERE instead of posting them on your blog. Methinks you’re not as worried about ideas ‘drying up’ after all! LOL ... Looks like we agreed on #7 and ‘sort of’ on #1 and 9 this week. I don’t know why I didn’t think ‘cat’ for ‘alley’ … seems like a natural after the fact. Thanks for playing along. I’m happy you found it fun! ;--)

I appreciate each of you visiting Small Reflections and leaving your thoughts … ‘cuz I love comments!

Great answers. I thought of the same thing for some of those too. The kitty looks so cozy hanging out up there! Sounds like Molly is a chewer ;)

storyteller said...

Sandy – I almost missed your comment here, but am glad I didn’t. Thanks for stopping by. Yup, Molly IS a chewer and doesn’t seem to like anything ‘unusual’ around her neck … but fortunately she distinguishes between what’s hers and mine quite consistently and I keep her well-supplied with all kinds of toys ;--)

I’m happy to finally be caught up again with your blog after falling behind. I’m still having ‘memory’ issues with my computer … but things ARE getting a bit better as I move files to my WD external drive and dump them from the ‘C’ drive on the laptop. It’s a slow process however.

I have no idea what I’m going to share for T-13 today nor what to did for Pensieve’s ’40 word or less’ challenge at Sacred Ruminations … but I’m savoring the moment right now and (hopefully) will figure it out soon. Hope you’re all having a wonderful week.

Ms. Kitty has had a grand long life for a feral kitty. And I bet it is all due to you! She's a beauty.

storyteller said...

Andrée – I apologize for ‘missing’ this comment for more than a week, but am happy to discover it this morning. You’re probably right about Ms. Kitty benefiting from ‘adopting’ me … but it’s a ‘mutual’ thing for the two of us ;--)
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day!
Hugs and blessings,
