Continuing Transitions ...

Make Time for Small Reflections
Scroll down for Mellow Yellow Monday
Blue Monday, Macro Monday & Ruby Tuesday

Meet the 'new' me!
Since getting my Nikon D60 a little more than a year ago, I seem to be more of a 'photo blogger' than 'storyteller' ... so (as I indicated in Sunday's post at Sacred Ruminations) I've decided to make some changes in my online persona reflecting these shifts because this 'feels' right (for the moment at least).

The pansies seem to have weathered the rains just fine so far, though more rains are predicted for Tuesday & Wednesday ... with additional 'fronts' just behind. The average rainfall in Southern California is just under 12 inches and we've had more than that since January. Of course the last few years we've had less that 5 inches per year ... so I guess this is how 'averages' happen, right?

I feel for the folks who live below the foothills that burned last October ... the mudslides there have already destroyed about 50 homes and there's no telling what will happen when the rains return. Watching the news about the SNOW on the East Coast is pretty amazing too. I feel grateful that the only weather-related damage I'm dealing with is a small slow leak coming from the deck
(outside my bedroom) just above causing moldy discoloration in my living room ceiling.

It's the 2nd Monday of the month and that means it's ...
'Retired Ladies Lunch'
... time to 'connect' with friends to see what they've been up to.

Hard to believe, but

Everywhere I looked a little - or a lot of yellow. Keep up the great camera work. I love that emerging flower. Gorgeous.

You have new shoots in your garden already? Wonderful. :)

I have some little green sprouts poking up in the back yard. So afraid we will get a cold front that will bite them off before spring arrives.

Lovely shots you got!

Where to begin?! I LOVE the new you--that's really well done! And that close up flower bud is so beautiful--goodness to come!

We seem to be getting lots of challenges weatherwise, aren't we? I'm glad all you have to worry about is the leak--though that's a bit of a pain, too!

The final tally in my neck of the woods was 35 inches of snow--and apparently more is coming tomorrow--between 8 and 15 inches! And our street STILL hasn't been plowed! We literally cannot go anywhere. Thank goodness I did extra shopping the day before it first started!

I'm really enjoying this more personal you--it adds even more texture to your always good entries!

I like the new you. You remain my mystery blogger friend! It reminds me of that very old T.V. show "The Shadow". "Who knows what evil lurks in the minds of men? The shadow knows!" That looks like a bleeding heart, but the white bloom is spectacular!! Is it a lily of the valley?

What a gorgeous bud! So fresh and green, and going to be sparkley white!

How awful to hear about the mudslides. Those poor people. :(

Enchanting photos, love the macro especially. I am saddened by those who have lost their homes in the foothills also. We are all at Mother Nature's mercy, always.

The SoCal rains leave beautiful cloud formations, and the precip is allowing the flora to grow. The prolific greenery is lovely, the Golden State beauty so easy on the eyes...
