Randy Pausch made back
in 2007 at
Carnegie Mellon.
I've watched it before
sev'ral times, and no doubt will
turn to it again
for inspiration
and clarity as I choose
how to use my time.
Randy died today
but his legacy lives on.
If you haven't viewed
these seventy-six
minutes ... I urge you to make
time to do so soon.

I have watched it many times also and just before I came here I watched again because I had just heard he had passed. Such an inspiration.

I've said this elsewhere, but so many die and leave so much less. He left his family a legacy that will live on in many, and I hope they can find a measure of solace there.

the world is a little worse off tonight
I watched his last lecture a dozen times. I forwarded it off to everyone I knew because it struck a chord within me then and always will. Such a tragic loss, and my heart breaks for his family.

I just read the book. It is so inspirational.
Randy Pausch certainly sought to live life to the fullest. Still, I am sorry that he is gone . . .
I was saddened when I heard of Randy Pausch's passing, but his words will live on in the hearts and minds of many forever.

I've watched it many times, too. Diane Sawyer of Good Morning America visited with Randy and his family now and then during the last several months. Their grace and love never fails to inspire me. His last lecture is indeed a great gift to us all. I love your poem!

Is lecture is a good...I'm glad he got a little more time than expected...
To all – I especially appreciated your reminders to enjoy my weekend. This response is much later than usual because I did just that … so thanks ;--)
Chuck – His impending death was clear from the beginning, but he lived so much longer than initially expected … looked so ‘healthy’ in his appearances … and had such an amazing spirit, I suspect we all hoped for a miracle.
Vixen – Yes … I’m sure his message will live on and enrich the world even though he’s now moved on.
Maggie – Amen to that. I do feel for his wife and young children for they must miss him so much more than we do.
Mike – You’re most welcome. When I heard he’d passed, Randy Pausch and his message stayed in my mind.
Catherine – In one sense, that’s true … yet in another this amazing man is as much alive in our hearts and minds as he ever was. His message goes on, enriching us all.
Sandy – I finally downloaded the entire 76 minute message to my laptop so I’ll have access even when I'm not connected to the Internet. I’ve also added a link to my sidebar at Sacred Ruminations … just because.
Yertle – I’ve not yet picked up the book, but will probably do so at the next opportunity.
Joyce – So many of us feel the loss of his physical presence just as you do.
SwampAngel65 – You’re so correct in that … and perhaps his passing will add that reminder to live fully NOW rather than put things off.
Tina – I’m glad you enjoyed my poem and thanks for the reminder about Diane Sawyer because methinks she’s doing a special about his life and the Last Lecture tonight (Tuesday) … so I’m going to set the DVR right now.
Karen – Me too … those additional months were a blessing to us all weren’t they?
