I love that movie...haven't watched it in years...we even have it on VHS still. I think Broderick did an excellent job as Shaw too.

Thanks for stopping by! And thanks for the comments on my art work. And, I'm grabbing that wonderful award - will add it to my blog with a link to you of course, tomorrow I hope.

ur's ain't too heavy!Nice post u got here!

sir/ma'm,
ur name 'storyteller" does not at all indicate u could be a priest or a preacher, the sense i get later going round ur blog .my comment has nothing whatsoever to do with any religion,i have the same reverence for all of them.

the comment is totally restricted to and focuses solely upon ur haiku as under-
"story based upon
letters of one Robert Shaw,
Colonel ... Civil War"
..nedless to say if u r a priest,ur blessings work equally for me!
kind regards..z.g.

Phyl – You’re quite welcome. As for your question … after a few months of blogging, I found it very challenging to post of both blogs daily, so I made a conscious decision to cut back. I post here at Small Reflections on a daily basis … and at Sacred Ruminations about 3-4 times per week. I try to maintain a fairly regular schedule there that includes Haiku on Fridays, Sacred Life Sunday, and then one more time weekly for One Single Impression … though I did try to do Monday Motivators and Wellness Wednesdays for a while. Having daily ‘memes’ helps … though sometimes I just want to write whatever … and I do ;--)

WillThink4Wine – Thanks (on both counts) and I hope you took a copy of the linky-love award to enjoy and share with others. I ‘adopted’ the avatar early in January and haven’t found anything I like better to replace it with so I guess I’ll keep it a while longer until I do.

the teach – I wondered if anyone else would … but it was my 1st thought so just I went with it. I noticed you went with ‘historical’ haiku as well. Guess it’s the ‘teacher’ coming out in each of us, eh?

Utah Mommy – Thanks for your visit and comment. I appreciate you leaving the links and I’ll check them out soon.

Hootin’ Anni – I’ve not watched the film recently, but I have seen it several times and thought it was a story worth the telling in an excellent movie.

Karen – You’re welcome of course … and you’re welcome. I’m sorry to learn you’ve been ill and hope you recover quickly. Now that you point it out … you DO tend to get sick when people come to visit … so maybe it’s ‘stress’ related because you try to do too much???

MamaGeek – Thanks!

Raven – I found the poster on the Web … and hopefully it was okay to use it here.

Zoya – FYI (to avoid future confusion), I’m female … a happily retired teacher (not a priest or preacher at all_ … just someone who enjoys ‘stories’ and who wished to remain semi-anonymous in this ‘virtual’ world. I’ve been blogging for not quite 6 months now … learning as I go.

Tumblewords – Yez … and reading your comment reminds me of a quote (though I’ve forgotten the source at the moment) that says something like ‘the only thing we learn from history is that we don’t learn from history’ …

Sue – Visiting your ‘Urban Zoo’ is always my pleasure. I appreciate your kind words, your return visit, and hope you no longer feel like screaming.

Thanks to all of you for stopping by my blog and commenting on my OSI post. I hope you’re all having a wonderful Wednesday.
Hugs and blessings,

Isn't Phyl's "I linky-love you" badge ADORABLE? THANK YOU for passing it on. :)

Things have been too busy over here in my neck of the woods. I feel that I haven't had enough time to write or visit my online friends.

Hope you are having a good day. :)

Storyteller,I always like comming to visit.I feel blessed that I have you as a friend and neighbor.Blessing your way.You Rock.(as the younger generation says)

Joyce – Yes … Phyl has lots of nifty things on her blog and I’m glad you decided to visit her. I understand ‘busy’ … it happens to all of us. Relax … and things WILL calm down eventually. It’ll all be here when you’ve got time on your hands again ;--)

Mike – I’m happy to know you still enjoy my blogs now that you’ve made so many friends in this ‘virtual’ world. I appreciate your compliments and comments whenever you stop by. You might remember how I assured you it would all come together quickly once you started ‘playing’ with things. I’ve been meaning to compliment you on how you figured out how to make the links in your Blogroll ‘clickable’ and you’ve learned more things I don’t even know how to do yet! Good for you ;--)

Thanks to both of you for visiting my OSI/WW post and I hope you ‘snagged’ awards to enjoy and share!

I love this reflection on Glory. I hadn't thought of the movie when we we putting the post together. Thanks for highlighting this great movie, and thanks for the award!

storyteller said...

SandyCarlson – Thanks and you’re welcome for the award. Feel free to pass it along to others.

As for this film … it was my 1st response when I read the prompt and assumed others might do it as well … but when I couldn’t let the thought go, I decided to roll with it. I’m glad I did because the only other person who seemed to consider it was Mary, the teach at Work of the Poet.

Storyteller,

The Glory movie was excellent. I saw it years ago. The graphic you posted is fabulous!

Thank you for the award for being on your blogroll! I am honored and pleased to be on your blogroll! :-)

Tina – I'm sorry to be late in responding here. I almost missed this comment, but am happy to find it this morning.

I’m delighted to add you to my Blogroll and am glad I finally got it updated recently. Because I rely on Google Reader (and Mr. Linkys for Daily Memes) I don’t use my own ‘Blogroll’ for much … so it’s easy to lose track of who’s on it and who isn’t. This week I changed a few of my Meme Blogrolls to Expandable ones thereby shortening the information in my sidebar and making room for more quotes and graphics ;--)

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for all your comments.

Thank you, my dear. And sorry for having been away so long! I'll be caught up soon. :)

storyteller said...

MPJ – I’ve enjoyed finding your comments scattered hither & yon on both of my blogs this morning and envision myself doing something similar on your blog … just as soon as I clear a block of time to do so. As I type this, I’m wondering if you check the little box to receive follow-up comments … and if you don’t, I suppose I could be creating email responses instead because I do have your email address. Habits can be hard to break. Have you checked out One Single Impression? I know you enjoy Haiku … and the bloggers I’ve met through OSI write lovely pieces. Of course, visiting everyone makes my blogging life busier all the time … so I guess it’s a Catch-22 ;--)
