Multi-tasking with Photographs from the Week

1. I love this unexpected colorful BONUS in the sky while my sister was shooting photos through the windshield of my Explorer as we drove from the Shops at Mission Viejo to South Coast Plaza. She captured a wonderful photo I plan to use for 'Weekend Reflections' ... perhaps NEXT week since I've already shared my 'watery fountain reflections' at Happily Retired Gal. Can you tell I'm happy to have my Nikon D60 back? Of course you can!

2. Tostada Bites at Z'Tejas are a big time favorite ... especially during 'happy hour' when they're half price ... this plate is just
$5 rather than $10.

3. I've loved Kipling bags for decades after discovering them in a luggage store on Waikiki. These photos are from a luggage store in the Shops at Mission Viejo. I have a huge collection of the monkeys (each has a name) because I own MANY varieties & colors of these purses.
4. My sister and a good friend both enjoy dining at Mimi's Cafe, and I took these photos on Tuesday when we ate breakfast there. We shared the crab omelet with avocado (see Thursday's Thoughts for more photos). I confess I 'played' with these two exterior photos ... adding color & clouds to nondescript grey skies and poster edges accents to the parts that are not sky ... (just because I can) ... so I suppose I could add that I love playing with Photoshop Elements ;-)

5. Of course I love my little Molly girl ... and these two pictures of her snapped last week at my sister's house when we were making tamales are current favorites, cropped & filtered with Poster Edges. For those who asked about the recipe, my brother-in-law emailed it to me and I posted it in Thursday's Thoughts.

Early morning addendum: I just read the most delightful post at the Dusty Cellar ... the most amazing and heartwarming photo story of Sean the Robin. If you have a minute or two to spare, I encourage you to check it out. I suspect you'll be glad you did.

Gorgeous sky pictures, Virginia. We have had some sunshine this week--but it's not the beautiful blue skies that you have out there.

Enjoyed your Fave Five also.. Love that first one --with the 'rainbow' reflection in the middle. Also--the pictures of beautiful Molly look like paintings. Gorgeous!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

I really like your mosaic of this week's skies. We've been short of blue skies in our neck of the woods. I also like those pictures of Molly.

Your sky collage is gorgeous as always, all that blue and fluffy white clouds how can you go wrong. And the little peak of rainbow, too cute. ~ Calico Contemplations

Just wonderful photos! I adore the last ones taken through the windshield! The top one makes the upper sky look very dark blue, when in fact it's an illusion, because it's the windshield. The shots of Molly are wonderful, poses on both sides, or is it one side? Kind of looks like a mirror reflection. I love the way you enhanced them. But the best is the sun dog!! I see quite a few and did two posts on them, one showing my own pictures and another with amazing ones from the web. These are from last August called "God's Bonus" and "What's In A Name". But have you ever seen an ice halo in the sky? It's sort of like a rainbow but not as colorful. Where a rainbow is made out of mist, an ice hale is made up od ice high in the atmosphere. It's called diamond dust. I happened to see one on last year on October 14, and took pictures and told the story of it. It's called "Ice Halo" if you are so inclined to read and see it. I continue to enjoy your blog, and look forward to future posts.

Mmmmm beautiful! This cold and snow wouldn't be half bad if we saw more sun. Half hour of it today and while I was inside at work. 'sigh' The breakfast spot looks great. Checked out the food at your other blog. We love going out to breakfast!

I love your beautiful collages. Will I ever learn to make one? ha ha

I"ve never heard of Kipling bags.

P.S. Yesterday I was looking at a co-worker's blog about animals and she had re-posted a story I had written for the newspaper last January. The post had one comment, and it was from YOU.
I nearly fell off my chair!

The blogosphere never ceases to amaze me.

The SoCal skies are warm, sunny and beautiful. Fair weather abounds. The tostada bites would make a nice meal, and I have never hears of a crab omelet, but being on the East Coast...Molly is a beautiful canine, loyal and a sunny disposition!
