Monochrome Mania - PSE6 Experiments
Make Time for Small Reflections
Black & white photography fascinates me, but I have minimal experience working in monochrome myself. For today's post, I took a collage of colorful orange-red day lilies covered with water droplets (shared at Happily Retired Gal for Wordless Watery Wednesday) and experimented with a variety of filters in Photoshop Elements 6. I've published the monochrome versions here ... just because. I'll share the more colorful versions another time. I'm intrigued with the various effects each filter creates and figure this (and similar) posts will serve as 'referents' to assist me in deciding which treatments to employ for desired results. I'm curious which YOU prefer and why ... if you have time to share.Conte Crayon

interesting photos.
I like the variety of monochrome with the same subject. The water droplets stand out so well in the high contrast versions.
Lovely variety of monochrome shots! I, too, love the water droplets!
You have enjoyed yourself with this - that's what it is all about.
Thanks for participating.
Very interesting... I hate the fact that it is always so difficult to compare... and yours shows it nicely...
Wow....effective and ever so brilliant at the same time.
Beautiful work, storyteller! See what experimentation gives you, options! And they are all gorgeous! :)
They're all very attractive but I particularly like Black and white scenic and Notepaper.
I wouldn't think that flowers would work well in black and white. Holy Moly you certainly proved be wrong! These are quite the knockout images! The droplets make it so intriguing:)
I can tell you enjoyed playing with those. They are so perfect - you just want to arrange and rearranged again and again. Enjoyed every one as they kept reveling on my screen.
They're all lovely, but I think the gradient map shows the photos off to their best advantage, it really makes them pop. My second favorite is the portrait series.
I like the Conte Crayon best--the images seem sharper with this, and I really like that...and I like how the water droplets looks like melted silver...
How interesting to see so many variations!
Love it! You did a wonderful job! Thanks for dropping by my Monochrome entry!
I love playing in Photoshop!
