I hope you enjoy your visit. If you're looking for something specific, check out the links to posts by category in my sidebar and down a ways. They'll assist with tracking down different types of posts found on each of my three blogs. You might also enjoy checking out the other sites: Sacred Ruminations, Blog Rolls, Bling & Blurbs, and Happily Retired Gal.

I hope you'll look around & leave comments
then visit me at my new blog ...

Giraffe Journal

and/or website ... Labyrinth Journal
both self-hosted at WordPress
where I publish as myself
rather than under a
pseudonym.

I've not had much time for posting or blog visits, but if you're interested I hope you'll find time to check out my new blog, Giraffe Journal or my Labyrinth Journal website ... both self hosted at WordPress.

Thanks for your visit and have a delightful day ;--)

Haiku Friday #89 - NaBloPoMo Day 14

Make Time for Small Reflections
My 20th SkyWatch/90th Haiku Friday
is at
Sacred Ruminations.
Gusty winds last night
fanned flames on the hills of South
Santa Barbara

in Montecito.
Burning uncontrollably
2000 acres ...

hundreds of houses
decimated ... dozens more
still at risk today!

Evacuation
of 5000 residents ...
more are 'on stand-by'

to leave quickly if
conditions require. Please pray
for quick containment

and for everyone
affected ... especially
the fire-fighters

facing dangerous
conditions on terrain that
is precarious.

Addendum: I found a video clip at Lunar Musings that touches my heart & conscience and wanted to share ... just because. It's posted at Blog Rolls and Bling today and I hope you'll take time to watch & listen. Perhaps you'll decide to share on your blog too in the interest of increased awareness and conversation.

Evening Wildfire Update ...

Make Time for Small Reflections
Click for my Morning 'Wildfire' Musings
Brief update: Unfortunately we now have several more fires burning out of control here in Southern California (in addition to the original two from this morning) ... the one in Newport Beach is closest to me and I'm hopeful fire-fighters will be able to put it down quickly before it gets dark. Several smaller fires in San Bernardino, Norco & Ontario were 'contained' quickly earlier in the day ... but 'mop up' (to be absolutely sure there are no lingering embers) is on-going. The winds are strong & gusty making it challenging to fight and/or control these fires. It's hard to watch the continuous news coverage, but it's equally difficult to turn it off ... just because. At times like this I'm grateful for my 'slate' roof and wish there weren't so many Palm Trees in the area. The first clip shows the three in front of my house ... blowing in the wind pretty noisily this morning around 10:45. The second shows trees across the street and inland from my house.

Thought for this evening ...
